Frequently Asked
Who is this course for?
All levels are welcome.
Whether you’re brand new to screen acting, returning after time away, theatre-trained and moving into film, or already working and wanting to level up — this course meets you where you are and builds from there.
Do I need experience to apply?
No prior experience is required.
Because places are limited, all applicants go through a short audition process — a 15-minute discovery call on Zoom followed by an in-person audition at our Ultimo studio. This isn’t about perfection — it’s about commitment and readiness.
How big are the cohorts?
Each intake is up to 16 actors.
This allows for personalised direction, deeper rehearsal time, detailed on-camera feedback, and strong creative chemistry within the group.
When are classes?
This is a part-time program, designed to fit around work and life.
Tuesdays & Thursdays
6:30pm – 9:30pm
Two evenings per week. Structured. Consistent. Sustainable.
What do I graduate with?
By the end of the year, you graduate with:
- Two fully produced cinematic showreels
- Professional-level screen training
- Deep rehearsal experience
- Stronger on-camera confidence
- Industry-ready footage
You leave with real work — not rushed content.
How is this different from just booking a showreel shoot?
Most showreels are a few rehearsals and a short filming day.
This course gives you a full year of structured craft development, ongoing performance training, carefully cast scenes tailored to you, professional production standards, and proper time on set.
You don’t just shoot scenes — you build the craft behind them.
Will we meet industry professionals?
Yes. Throughout the year, we host industry sessions with working professionals from across screen.
These sessions give you real insight, perspective, and a stronger understanding of how the industry actually works.
When is the next intake?
The next intake begins on October 6th 2026.
Places are limited, so early application is encouraged.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Payment plans are available and can be discussed during your application process.

Trusted By Working Actors
Matt’s knowledge of the craft coupled with his genuine and caring personality enables him to engage meaningfully with his students. His ability to create a trusting and fun learning environment is exceptional.
Each class I was learning something new, pushing myself out of my comfort zone in a relaxed and supportive environment. Matt has a real passion to watch us connect to the other actor and rely on our natural instincts.
He has created a room that is utterly safe in every way — to explore, to play, to try new things and even fall flat on your face. Throughout the classes I’ve learned more about my acting and, in fact, directing as well.
